MarkTwain White was born in Second Life on November 6, 2004. His real life guiding spirit’s first involvement in graphical virtual worlds was as a beta tester for a program called “Alpha World” back in 1994-5. Most remember MarkTwain White’s first manifestation as Mark Twain, the pen name of Samuel Clemens. Over the past century Mark appeared several more times. First as the steamboat captain in Philip Jose Farmer’s “Riverworld” series. Then in “Mark Twain Tonight”, a one man show in Mark’s personal style performed by Hal Holbrook.  Now Mark is active again, this time as MarkTwain White in Second Life.

 In real life MarkTwain’s guiding spirit was involved in the computer gaming industry as a magzine publisher for 15 years. Now MarkTwain is involved in game design of a different form, creating an golf game enviroment and community in Second Life.

With the help of Nber Medici, MarkTwain launched Second Life’s first golf course in June 2006. Using the floG! golf system designed by Kanker Greenacre, Mark and Kanker are the pioneers paving the future of golf in Second Life. MarkTwain also founded Second Life’s oldest and largest yacht club, Starboards Yacht Club where sailboat racing occurs several times each week.
